Still Precious in His Sight

Thankyou all so much for praying for Joey’s smallest passenger ever. She has now been discharged from the hospital and is home with her family. Sadly, her condition is terminal.

Received this text from Joey during a recent medivac flight. “Over lake albert. The lady is in a lot of pain. Can hear her yelling.” And so I prayed more. Sadly, she too died.

We all like to tell the stories of when God allows us to be part of the rescue of those hurting physically or spiritually. Those stories yell, “Victory over darkness!” But when a patient dies despite the emergency airlift. When there turns out to be no help available for the precious little one. What then?

Are these not the quiet victories? God chose to entrust this woman, this baby, these families into our care in their moment of deep need. When they were suffering, God reached out to them through our hands to speak of His love. In the way we lift their loved one into the plane, in the way we cover them with prayer, in the compassion of our voice and the act of service of our flight. We whisper to their hurting hearts, “There is hope. There is victory over darkness.”
