| Our hearts have ached, but with this pain has come precious moments...In August, I knelt on the floor telling our girls that everyone was sad right now because Nana had just died. Her body was still here but she was not. Hannah, with a look of amazement and delight said with great excitement, "You mean she is in Heaven RIGHT NOW?!" |

| Our
travels led to many memorable moments for the kids. “Look! There’s our flag!” we
heard Dorothy exclaim over and over as we drove and saw American flags flying
across the country. Hannah, when hearing you could eat 3 or even 4 desserts at
a buffet, leaned forward and asked intently, “Are you serious?” And in TN Levi learned to say the word, "COLD!" |

| Getting to visit face to face with friends is always a highlight of furlough. This year we even got to see a friend I last saw over 25 years ago. Interestingly enough we both ended up married to pilots! |

| An abundance of time with extended family has been a blessing this furlough! |
We head
back to Congo Wednesday, blessed beyond measure. Thankyou to all who made time
to chat, hosted us, fed us, helped financially, loaned us vehicles/carseats, made
friends with our kids, and prayed for us!
